SMRT1 Technologies Ltd has appointed Margret Jennings to the position of Vice President, Operations. She will report directly to Brad Pommen, President and Founder.
Along with overseeing the hardware and software development team, Margret will be responsible for overseeing SMRT1’s business operations, including R&D strategy planning and HR roles as the company begins onboarding new employees in the coming year. Previously holding positions as Project Manager and Director of Operations at the company as she delved into touchscreen vending technologies, her dedication and operational excellence has been essential to the company’s early growth.
Margret joined SMRT1 with a strong background in community economic development, as well as a recruiter and manager for local and global software technology companies. Prior to joining the Executive Team, Margret and Brad worked together at CoreLogic (previously Tarasoft) in Nelson, BC where she originally hired her current boss.
In positions of increasing responsibility, she provides amazing business acumen to the 3 year old startup based in the Kootenays, which is seeing global interest in core touchscreen products across the health, smart city, tourism, transportation and retail vending industries. SMRT1 continues to disrupt traditional automated merchandising for an industry best-known for snacks, soda and business models built on tight margins and low-tech solutions.
“We are pleased to welcome Margret to our Executive Team” said Pommen. “Our company was built on a commitment to being the best hardware and software platform so that our great marketing partners can focus on what they do best, without technology getting in the way of traditional brick and mortar establishments. Our focus is to democratize touchscreen vending machines as being the most advanced navigation and engagement platform on the planet. We remain intensely focused on enhancing our technology products though scaleable operational oversight and believe Margret will help us achieve that vision in a core leadership position.”
